Thanks to the group “CSA II: The New Confederate States of America”. Awareness is being raised about the Confederacy.  Even though there is a ban on Confederate demonstrations in Richmond, VA, CSA II plans on exercising their unalienable right to assemble, by hosting a rally at Robert E. Lee statue September 16th.

“This event is not canceled,” organizers said. “We will be standing up to protect the General Robert E. Lee monument from being taken down or destroyed.”  This is not a rally for racist groups such as the KKK or Neo-Nazi’s. This is a rally about Southern and Confederate heritage. “Any hate will not be stood for on our side whatsoever,” CSA II said.

There was an unconstitutional executive order signed by Governor Terry McAuliffe after the Charlottesville incident in which a lady was killed when a man, allegedly a fan of Hitler and Nazi Germany, drove over her in an attempt to flee.  McAuliffe has claimed that a rally would “create a safety hazard in the current circumstances.”

This street that the statue is on is in a traffic circle and in an area that features oldest and biggest Confederate statues in US. It is not clear how large the planned rally might be.  Richmond police know about the rally, but have not said anything about how it will be met.
